According to the photo below, allegedly taken during a playtest event in Milan at the weekend, Arsenal Football Club will be licensed in PES 2017.
Having already qualified for next season's UEFA Champions League, a competition exclusive to the PES series, it appears Arsène Wenger's side will once again be licensed in Konami's world-famous sim - the first time since PES 6.
The screenshot also reveals a reworked Game Plan screen, as well as improved player faces for Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal, Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez, while Atlético Madrid's Saúl Ñíguez also gets an aesthetic upgrade.
Meanwhile, for those concerned, player stats are not final and the inclusion of Arsenal's Emirates Stadium hasn't been confirmed either.
In previous years, PES has featured just one licensed club from England's top tier: Manchester United. So, for now at least, it remains unclear as to whether or not the current FA Cup holders will revert back to Man Red (something they've not been called since PES 2008).
In an ideal world though, we're on the verge of Konami securing a second Premier League club license, akin to PES 5 (Arsenal / Chelsea), PES 2008 (Newcastle United / Tottenham) and PES 2010 (Liverpool / Manchester United).
Although there's been no official announcement yet, it's also worth pointing out that the five screenshots released for the PES 2017 announcement all included Arsenal players: Oliver Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Özil.
