Messi CONFIRMED to make return from injury for El Clasico

Lionel Messi could make his return to action for Barcelona’s massive Clasico match against Real Madrid next Saturday.

He is the top scorer in the rivalry with 21 goals.

Messi hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury in September, but has returned to training and has been battling to get fit.
His Barcelona teammate Adriano said Messi has looked good, and that he could be ready to go in El Clasico.
He is recovering very well, doing everything to get to the game and to have him in the team changes a lot.

Every day he’s been the Leo we’re accustomed to: laughing, joking, and doing things with confidence.
Would I put money on him playing in the Clasico? Hopefully, yes.

Saturday’s match at the Bernabeu is this season’s first meeting between the two giants, as Barcelona currently sits three points ahead of Real Madrid. The teams split results last season, with each side winning at home.

While Messi’s return would surely be welcomed, Barcelona has fared well without him. The Catalan club has won seven of nine matches since Messi went down, losing just once in La Liga.

Much of the success has been thanks to the stellar play of Neymar and Luis Suarez, who have been leading the Barca attack in Messi’s absence. Barcelona has scored 23 goals since Messi was injured in September, with Neymar and Suarez accounting for 20 of those with ten apiece.
